Frequently asked questions
Does SmartFilter read all my messages?
No. iOS only hands SmartFilter messages from unknown senders — people who aren't in your contacts and who you haven't replied to several times. iMessages and texts from known contacts are never seen by the app.
Where do filtered messages go?
They're routed into the Junk, Promotions, or Transactions folders inside Apple's Messages app. Nothing is deleted — you can always review them.
How do I know why a message was filtered?

You can also save example texts to the built-in test suite and re-run them whenever you tweak a rule — so a change never quietly breaks something you rely on.
Does it work on Android?
SmartFilter relies on Apple's message-filtering extension, so it's iPhone-only. iOS 16 or later is recommended.
